Help us continue to provide free services to our Veterans and First Responders
While we depend on the generous support of all of our donors, we also have individuals that we’d like to honor for their greater investment in our mission. This page offers a great way for us to recognize those donors who have gone above and beyond in their support of our work. We thank them for their support.

As we approach National First Responders Day on October 28th and Veterans Day on November 11th, we invite you to stand with us in honoring those who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving our communities and country. At K9s on the Front Line, our mission is to empower Veterans and First Responders to heal from their invisible wounds through free mental health support, trauma recovery, holistic wellness programs, and service dogs. We are dedicated to fostering resilience and hope, helping them achieve fulfilling lives with dignity and purpose. Our Goal: In the spirit of these important days, we are rallying 222 compassionate individuals to pledge $22.00 a month and 22 generous supporters to pledge $100.00 a month. Our goal is to raise $85,000, which will enable us to help 22 more Veterans and First Responders in 2025, reflecting our projected increase in the number of individuals we will serve. Why $22? The number 22 represents the estimated number of Veterans who lose their lives to suicide every day. By pledging $22 monthly, you honor their memory and help us provide essential mental health support, trauma recovery, and service dogs to those in need. Why $100? A $100 monthly pledge will significantly bolster our ability to offer comprehensive, holistic wellness programs and ensure that our service dogs are fully trained and equipped to serve Veterans and First Responders, helping them regain their sense of purpose and live fulfilling lives. How Your Pledge Helps: $22/month: Supports the basic training and care of our service dogs, contributing directly to our trauma recovery programs. $100/month: Enables us to expand our holistic wellness programs, provide advanced training for service dogs, and offer ongoing mental health support to Veterans and First Responders. Make Your Pledge Today: As we honor our heroes on National First Responders Day and Veterans Day, your monthly pledge—whether $22 or $100—will make a profound difference in the lives of those who have served our country and communities. By joining the 222/22 Pledge, you’ll be helping us reach our goal of $85,000, allowing us to serve 22 more Veterans and First Responders in 2025. Together, we can bring hope, healing, and resilience to those who need it most.
Pledge Now!There are multiple ways to support the K9s on The Front Line mission. We offer all of our services completely free of charge and depend on the generosity of our community to keep doing what we’re doing. Below, we’ve listed some of the ways you can help.
Bake sales, bottle drives, casual Fridays…be creative! There are plenty of things you can do with your co-workers, children, sports teams, or classrooms to spread awareness and get people engaged. K9s on The Front Line does not co-host privately organized fundraisers, but we encourage and appreciate fundraisers organized on our behalf. If you have an idea that you would like to run by us, please email us.
The entire cost of completing and graduating from our Veteran-K9 program ranges between $4,000 – $5,000. We have had families forego holiday gift giving or a milestone birthday and sponsor a service dog/Veteran team instead. An excellent way to celebrate the occasion while knowing you are saving and changing lives!
There’s no better way to make a lasting impact than through planned giving and legacy funds. Also referred to as a “charitable bequest,” planned giving consists of including K9s on The Front Line in your will or living trust, ensuring that you leave behind a legacy of supporting our Veterans. Contact us for more information about this option.
Many families choose to memorialize their loved one with donations made in their honor to a charity that is symbolic and meaningful to them. Donations can be made on our website or sent by mail to K9s on The Front Line, PO Box 8823 Portland, Maine 04104. If you would like assistance tracking donations or have any other questions, please contact us.
Many companies have programs to match charitable donations by their employees. You should first consult your HR Department to see if this is something your employer participates in. We can provide the necessary tax documentation they will need. Please contact us for more information.
Corporations often have funds budgeted for charitable giving. If you would like to nominate us to your executive team, we would be happy to provide information and make time for a phone call or, where possible, a meeting to explain more about our program. Please contact us to get in touch.
We proudly partner with brands like Veterans United Foundation, Diamond Pet Foods, TD Bank, Unum, and others whose sponsorships help us achieve our goals. If you’re a company who would like to show your appreciation and support of our Veterans and First Responders by partnering with us, please reach out so we can chat!
